Gordon Runs It Back: Longhorns Blitz Whiteface for Back-to-Back Titles
AT&T Stadium turned into Gordon’s victory stage Wednesday afternoon as the Longhorns left no doubt about their dominance in the six-man ranks. Behind explosive outings from Ry Reed and Brayden Walters, Gordon steamrolled Whiteface 70–24, capturing the UIL 1A Division I championship and securing a repeat crown.
Another Banner Year for the Longhorns
The win sealed Gordon’s second straight state title and the program’s fourth overall, capping a flawless 15–0 season. In true six-man fashion, the scoring came fast, furious, and lopsided—so much so that the game was cut short by the mercy rule with nearly a full quarter left to play.
Dynamic Duo Leads the Charge
Ry Reed set the tone with his legs, slicing through the defense for three rushing touchdowns, including a pair of 35-yard dashes that showcased his breakaway speed. Not to be outdone, Brayden Walters turned every reception into fireworks, hauling in three passes for 92 yards—all of them ending in the end zone.
Quarterback Stryker Reed kept the offense rolling, firing two touchdown strikes while also flashing his wheels with scoring runs of 12 and 45 yards.
Whiteface’s Fight
Whiteface entered unbeaten and carried high hopes into the championship, but the Bulldogs were overwhelmed from the start. Still, Ethan Kauffman gave their fans reason to cheer with two touchdowns—one on a tough 17-yard run and another on a short scoring grab from quarterback Isaak Soliz. Whiteface’s dream season closed at 14–1.
Final Word
On the biggest stage, Gordon played like a dynasty in the making—powerful, balanced, and utterly relentless.
Final: Gordon 70, Whiteface 24 — mercy rule, 9:45 left in the third. Longhorns, state champs again.
