Guyer opened the postseason looking every bit like a team built for a long run, rolling past Dallas Jesuit 44-14 in a dominant showing Friday night. The Wildcats controlled the tempo from the start, stacking their ninth win of the season by at least 20 points.
Quarterback Carter Morgan steered the offense with precision and poise, completing nearly every pass he threw on his way to 132 yards and two touchdowns. Morgan also turned into a threat on the ground, slipping through the defense for 46 rushing yards and another score, his most productive night running the ball since October.
The Wildcats brought thunder in the backfield as well. Kaedyn Cobbs powered his way to 90 yards and two touchdowns on only 11 carries, helping Guyer rack up an impressive 290 rushing yards. It marked the fourth straight game the Wildcats cleared the 150-yard rushing mark.
Guyer’s defense made sure the lead never felt threatened. The secondary stepped in front of two passes, with Paxton Williams and Darrien Neal collecting interceptions. Williams continued his heater in coverage, adding to a streak of strong defensive outings.
With the win, Guyer climbs to 10-2 and sets up a marquee showdown at Byron Nelson on Thursday night. Dallas Jesuit closes its season at 6-6 after seeing a three-game win streak come to a halt.
