Prosper Explodes After Halftime, Overpowers Rockwall-Heath 45-27
ROCKWALL — For two quarters, Prosper’s offense looked human. Then came the third quarter, and the Eagles turned into a scoring machine.
After scratching out just 10 first-half points, Prosper needed only two plays out of the break to light the fuse. Senior quarterback Braeden Imhoff sold the run, pulled back, and fired to junior Elliott Brown, who split the Hawks’ secondary for a 70-yard touchdown — just 47 seconds into the second half. From there, it was all Prosper.
The Eagles strung together five straight touchdown drives in the second half, torching Rockwall-Heath 45-27 on Thursday night at Wilkerson-Sanders Stadium.
Prosper racked up 335 of its 506 total yards after halftime, breaking open what had been a 10-10 tie at the break. The two teams traded scores early in the third quarter to knot things at 17-17, but Prosper shifted into another gear, unleashing a 21-3 run that left the Hawks chasing.
Imhoff was surgical, going 17-of-25 for 403 yards and three total touchdowns — his second straight game with three scores. He connected with senior receiver Lathon Latiolais on a 25-yard strike to reclaim the lead, then watched as Bryce Robinson punched in a short touchdown run before adding a QB sneak himself to make it 38-20 with just over eight minutes left.
Latiolais, the go-to target all night, was unstoppable. He hauled in nine catches for 211 yards and a score, his second consecutive 200-yard game. With standout wideout Dallas Boozer sidelined, Brown stepped up, finishing with 120 yards on four grabs including his back-breaking 70-yard TD to open the second half.
Robinson handled the ground game, finding the end zone twice on a 60-yard rushing night.
While Heath rolled up 465 yards of offense, Prosper’s defense delivered when it mattered most. Senior DK Jamison grabbed a key first-quarter interception, and Zac Manning led a disruptive front that made sure the Hawks’ second-half surge never arrived.
The win moves Prosper to 2-0 heading into its bye week, with marquee victories over Austin Westlake and Rockwall-Heath already on the résumé. The Eagles open District 6-6A play Sept. 19 against McKinney Boyd — and they expect to be healthier with multiple starters set to return.
