Summer Creek walked into Friday night with momentum and walked out with a thriller they won’t soon forget. In one of the wildest playoff finishes of the season, the Bulldogs edged Katy 38 to 37 in a game that swung back and forth for four full quarters. Locked at twenty one apiece at halftime, both teams traded blows, but Summer Creek delivered just enough in the final stretch to survive and advance.
Spinks Steady, Causey Clutch, and Easter Electric
Quarterback Noah Spinks gave the Bulldogs the poise they needed, completing more than seventy percent of his throws and finishing with one hundred ninety four yards and three passing touchdowns. Whenever Summer Creek needed a play, Spinks found Braylin Causey, who stacked up eighty versatile yards and kept chains moving.
But the biggest jolt of the night came on special teams. Benny Easter Jr. turned a kickoff into a touchdown sprint, flipping momentum and sending the Bulldogs’ sideline into a frenzy. Summer Creek’s kicking units accounted for fourteen points altogether, a number that proved to be the difference.
Katy’s Offense Fights to the Final Whistle
Katy refused to go quietly, and the Tigers leaned on a star performance from Tremayne Hill. The senior running back tore through defenders for two hundred twenty five yards and two touchdowns while averaging nearly nine yards every time he touched the ball. Hill has been unstoppable for weeks and kept that streak alive even in defeat.
Mason Hartwell chipped in with a rushing touchdown of his own, helping Katy stay stride for stride until the game’s final minutes.
Another Step Forward for Red Hot Bulldogs
Friday’s win marks seven straight for Summer Creek and elevates them to a twelve and one record. They have been crushing opponents throughout this run with an average margin of nearly thirty four points, though this one certainly required every ounce of grit they had.
Katy’s season closes at ten and three after a ten game winning streak came to an end in dramatic fashion.
Summer Creek survives, advances, and keeps its dream season rolling into the next round.
