Liberty Christian Outlasts West Plains in Wild Finish to Extend Home Streak
ARGYLE, TX The Liberty Christian Warriors made their home turf count once again, holding off a late rally to edge the previously unbeaten West Plains Wolves 41-35 on Friday night. The win marked Liberty’s ninth straight home victory and pushed their record to 3-2 on the season.
The matchup was every bit the thriller fans expected big plays, momentum swings, and two offenses trading blows well into the fourth quarter.
Balanced Attack Powers Warriors
Liberty Christian showcased the kind of offensive balance that gives defensive coordinators nightmares.
Running back Correll Buckhalter led the ground game, powering through tackles for 111 yards and two touchdowns, while quarterback Quinn Murphy was sharp through the air, throwing for 256 yards and a pair of scores.
The Warriors found rhythm early, spreading the ball around and executing with precision when it mattered most. Every time West Plains threatened, Liberty answered.
Wolves’ Macon Shines in Defeat
West Plains quarterback Reid Macon nearly willed his team to a comeback, accounting for five total touchdowns four on the ground and one through the air while adding 113 rushing yards and 163 passing yards with a 75% completion rate. Running back Slade Russell added another 90 yards on the ground as the Wolves’ offense moved the ball at will but came up short on the final possession.

Liberty Christian will try to keep their home streak alive next Friday when they host Prestonwood Christian in another key matchup.
West Plains (4-1) will look to bounce back as they open district play at home against Canyon.
