Lone Star opened the postseason looking every bit like a title contender, and Georgetown felt the full weight of that momentum. The unbeaten Rangers controlled Friday’s matchup from start to finish, rolling to a 42-21 victory and handing the Eagles their lowest offensive output of the year.
Georgetown had one bright constant through the night in Jett Walker, who ran like a man determined to keep his team in the fight. He piled up 201 rushing yards and a touchdown, repeatedly slicing through the defense at eight yards a pop. Even as the scoreboard tilted the other way, Walker gave the Eagles a spark every time he touched the ball.
Defensively, Georgetown showed moments of grit as well, snagging two interceptions to try to swing momentum. Malakhai Miller was the catalyst, jumping routes twice and giving the Eagles life with a pair of picks that kept Lone Star from turning the game into an early runaway.
But Lone Star’s offensive rhythm eventually became too much to contain. Quarterback Trey Wright spread the ball with confidence, firing for 230 yards and three touchdowns on just 18 attempts. His connection with receiver Zach Forbish was the night’s defining mismatch, with Forbish hauling in 76 yards and two scores while slipping behind the secondary over and over again.
The loss sends Georgetown to a 9-3 finish, a strong season that simply ran into a buzzsaw. Lone Star improves to a flawless 12-0 and marches deeper into the postseason with its perfect record untouched and its offense humming at full power.
