Klein Collins rolled into the postseason with momentum, confidence, and a six game streak in its back pocket, but none of that mattered once Duncanville stepped on the field Saturday afternoon. The Panthers slammed the door on the Tigers’ playoff hopes with a decisive 34 to 7 win, handing Klein Collins its lowest point total of the year and ending one of the program’s strongest regular seasons in recent memory.
Tigers Fight, But Firepower Falls Short
Quarterback Braydon Schoggin did everything he could to keep Klein Collins afloat, completing seventeen passes for one hundred sixty six yards. Adrian Jenkins emerged as his most reliable target, hauling in seventy four yards through the air. Running back Tyce Hudson provided the Tigers’ lone touchdown, punching in a short run that gave Klein Collins some life early on.
But every gain the Tigers made felt like a small step uphill against a Duncanville defense that swarmed the line of scrimmage and forced long fields nearly every drive.
Duncanville Backfield Takes Over the Night
Once Duncanville established its rhythm, the Panthers controlled the game with a punishing ground attack. Ayson Theus ripped off chunk runs all afternoon and finished with one hundred forty five yards and a touchdown on just eleven carries. His eighty one yard sprint in the second half broke the game open and showcased the burst that has made him one of the area’s most dangerous runners.
The star of the night, though, was Trenton Yancey. The senior was practically untouchable, tallying one hundred eight rushing yards and three touchdowns on only six carries. Every touch felt like a threat to go the distance.
Panthers Keep Rolling Into the Next Round
Duncanville’s victory stretches its win streak to nine and improves its record to ten and one. Klein Collins closes the year at eleven and two, its season halted by one of the most explosive teams in the state.
Next up for the Panthers is a Saturday showdown with Waxahachie at three o’clock, where Duncanville will look to keep its postseason march alive.
