Argyle Rolls Past Seguin to Extend Road Dominance
ARLINGTON – Argyle just keeps finding ways to win when they’re away from home. The Eagles soared to their ninth straight road victory, powering past Seguin 41-24 on Thursday night to move to 5-1 on the season.
For Seguin, it was a tough night at the office. The Cougars’ four-game home win streak a run stretching back to last year came to an end as Argyle once again proved to be a tough matchup. The loss also denied Seguin a bit of revenge after last season’s 36–7 setback to the Eagles.
Gasperson Does It All
Argyle quarterback Maguire Gasperson was the engine behind the Eagles’ offensive surge, turning in a dynamic dual-threat performance.
He threw for 100 yards and two touchdowns through the air and added two more scores on the ground, his best rushing output since early last season. Gasperson’s poise and versatility kept Seguin’s defense guessing all night.
Running back Obadiah Goble provided a spark of his own, tallying 69 yards and a touchdown on just six carries, showcasing Argyle’s depth and efficiency on offense.
Seguin’s Fight Comes Up Short
The Cougars battled to keep pace but couldn’t overcome Argyle’s early surge. Despite a few late drives that showed flashes of their offensive capability, the Cougars couldn’t close the gap as the Eagles’ balanced attack continued to churn out points.
The defeat drops Seguin to 5-2, marking their first home loss since last fall.
