Lake Travis Stays Perfect, Dominates San Marcos 41-6
SAN MARCOS – The Cavaliers didn’t just win Friday night – they left no doubt. Lake Travis rolled to a 41-6 victory over San Marcos, staying unbeaten and looking every bit the state title contender they’re ranked to be.
Hopping Headlines the Show
Running back Vann Hopping powered the Cavs’ offense, racking up 97 rushing yards and two touchdowns – marking his third straight game with multiple scores. Quarterback Luke McBride was sharp as well, tossing three touchdown passes and finishing with 188 yards through the air to keep the Rattlers’ defense off balance all night.
Defense Sets the Tone
Lake Travis’ defensive front completely took over, piling up six sacks in the game. Carter Buck was nearly unstoppable, breaking through for four sacks on his own and making life miserable for San Marcos’ quarterback.
Big Picture
With the win, Lake Travis improves to 4-0, averaging a blistering 44 points per game this season. San Marcos drops to 2-2, but will get a chance to regroup as district play heats up.
Looking Ahead
The Cavaliers open district play Thursday night against Bowie in a key matchup that could set the tone for their title chase. San Marcos returns home to face Johnson on Friday – and with the Jaguars allowing nearly 30 points per game, the Rattlers could be in for a bounce-back performance.
