The Allen Eagles continued their impressive start to the season, securing a 38-21 victory over the Plano Wildcats on Friday in their second District 6-6A game. This win keeps Allen undefeated at 4-0, while Plano fell to 1-3 and 0-2 in district play. The matchup marked the first meeting between the two teams in over four years, with Allen extending their winning streak against Plano to seven consecutive games.
The game began as a defensive battle, with neither team giving up much ground. Allen took an early lead with a 34-yard field goal, finishing the first quarter up 3-0. The Eagles found their rhythm in the second quarter, adding two touchdowns to lead 17-7 at halftime, while Plano managed only one score to stay within striking distance.
The Wildcats made it interesting in the third quarter, cutting Allen’s lead to 17-14 after an 8-yard touchdown run by Donald Smith. However, the Eagles responded with authority, scoring 21 unanswered points to take control of the game. Running back Jaden Hambric was a standout, rushing for 96 yards and two touchdowns on just 11 carries, with scores from 2 and 12 yards out. Quarterback Brady Bricker also contributed, throwing for 169 yards, including a 19-yard touchdown pass to Donnell Gee, who led Allen’s receiving corps with 10 catches for 122 yards and a touchdown.
Plano struggled to keep up offensively but saw notable performances from quarterback Tyree Fisher, who passed for 136 yards, and Chance Culley, who rushed for 90 yards. Despite Smith’s defensive highlight, a 39-yard interception return for a touchdown, the Wildcats couldn’t close the gap.
