The Westlake Chaparrals secured a 35-14 victory over the Prosper Eagles at Chaparral Stadium in a highly anticipated match-up. The game saw Westlake take control early, thanks to a well-rounded offense and a dominant defense.
The Chaparrals struck first in the second quarter when quarterback Jax LeFevre connected with wide receiver Lawson Grimes for a 46-yard touchdown, putting Westlake ahead 7-0. Prosper quickly answered with a 7-yard touchdown pass to Judah Bogard, evening the score at 7-7.Westlake swiftly responded with another touchdown drive, heading into halftime with a 14-7 advantage. The Chaparrals’ defense, anchored by linebacker Elliott Schaper, who recorded 13 tackles and three sacks, relentlessly pressured Prosper’s offense throughout the game.
In the second half, Westlake’s offense continued to excel. Running back Zane Minors extended the lead with an 18-yard touchdown run, followed by another scoring connection between LeFevre and Joey Pojasek on a 30-yard pass. Westlake’s dominance was capped off in the fourth quarter when running back Trevor Suter added a 24-yard rushing touchdown, securing the final score at 35-14.
