McKinney’s momentum from their dominant 31-7 win over Plano West last week was quickly halted on Friday as they fell to the Prosper Eagles, 29-17. The defeat extended McKinney’s struggles against Prosper, marking the eighth consecutive loss in the series.
Despite the setback, McKinney did manage to find the end zone with scores from Riley Pettijohn and Ja’Bree Bickham. The Lions’ defense also made some notable plays, picking off Prosper’s quarterback twice with interceptions by Bickham and Jabari Woods. However, these efforts weren’t enough to overcome the Eagles’ consistent play.
Prosper, on the other hand, continued their dominance at home, securing their tenth straight home victory dating back to last season. The Eagles improved to 6-1 on the year, while McKinney’s loss dropped their record to 4-3.
For Prosper, the win marked their sixth straight, maintaining their strong season as they gear up for the stretch run. McKinney will look to regroup and bounce back as they continue their playoff push.
