North Shore didn’t waste any time reminding everyone why they entered the postseason as one of the most feared teams in Texas. The Mustangs rolled through Cypress Falls with a commanding 54 to 27 win, stacking yet another lopsided victory onto a season already full of them. Nine times this year North Shore has won by at least twenty four points, and Friday’s showing fit the pattern perfectly.
Maryland and Bocard Torch the Secondary
The Mustangs attacked through the air early and often, and the Maryland-to-Bocard connection drove the entire operation. Quarterback Kaleb Maryland delivered another sharp outing with one hundred seventy passing yards and three touchdowns, while his go-to receiver Jaylen Bocard carved up the Eagles for one hundred ten yards and two scores. Whenever the Mustangs needed a spark, Maryland found No. 1 streaking open.
Maryland’s efficiency continues to be the barometer for this offense. When his passer rating reaches triple digits, North Shore hasn’t lost. When it dips, results get dicey. On this night, he was in total command.
Javoris Taylor joined the highlight reel as well, punching in two more touchdowns to pad the scoreboard.
Run Defense Slams the Door
North Shore’s defensive front completely erased the Cypress Falls ground game. The Eagles managed less than half a yard per carry, swallowed up at the line before drives could even develop. It marked the third straight week the Mustangs have tightened the screws even more against the run, a trend no upcoming opponent will enjoy watching on film.
What’s Next
With the win, North Shore climbs to 11 and 2 while Cypress Falls slips to 9 and 4 after seeing its eight-game hot streak snapped.
The Mustangs now move into a marquee matchup on Friday at seven against Dickinson. Fans will get a showdown between two standout quarterbacks, as Maryland and Dickinson’s Lorenzo Aguirre prepare to trade blows with a regional round berth at stake.
