Duncanville Dominates Rockwall in Playoff Rout
The Duncanville Panthers asserted their dominance in the Texas 6A Division I Area round on Friday, overpowering the Rockwall Yellowjackets with a resounding 56-14 victory. Duncanville’s explosive offense and suffocating defense were on full display, keeping their undefeated season alive and moving them one step closer to a state title.
Duncanville’s Early Control
The Panthers wasted no time taking command of the game. Quarterback Keelon Russell set the tone with a 51-yard touchdown pass on the very first play, sparking a 28-point first quarter. By halftime, Duncanville had built an overwhelming 49-0 lead, effectively sealing the game before the second half began. Their balanced attack, which generated 405 total yards, was complemented by a relentless defense that stifled Rockwall’s offense at every turn.
Rockwall’s Silver Lining
Despite the lopsided scoreline, Rockwall found moments of promise, particularly in the third quarter. Senior wide receiver Camron Marsh provided a highlight with a spectacular 74-yard touchdown catch, part of his 93 receiving yards for the game. While the Yellowjackets struggled to establish their run game—averaging just 1.19 yards per carry—their passing game offered glimpses of resilience.
Duncanville improved to 11-0 with the win, continuing a home-game winning streak that dates back to last season. Their undefeated record and ability to dominate on both sides of the ball make them strong contenders for the Texas state title. Rockwall, on the other hand, ends their season at 6-6, marked by a challenging final stretch that saw them lose three of their last four games.
Duncanville advances to the regional quarterfinals, where they will face Waxahachie. With a perfect season and a balanced, high-performing roster, the Panthers are poised to continue their march toward championship glory.
