The win marked the 39th consecutive district victory for the Mustangs, maintaining their unbeaten record in district play and solidifying their pursuit of a sixth consecutive district title.
The game featured back-and-forth action, with both teams delivering standout moments. North Shore made a striking start with a quick touchdown, courtesy of Kaleb Bailey’s 61-yard pass to Terrence Guillory. However, Summer Creek responded fiercely, showcasing resilience with Lloyd Avant’s 1-yard TD run, leveling the score at seven.
Bailey’s offensive prowess continued, contributing to North Shore’s lead with a series of scoring plays, including a touchdown pass to Cameron Smith. Despite Summer Creek’s persistent efforts, highlighted by Avant’s impressive performance and a touchdown pass from Blake Thomas to Kordell Rodgers, North Shore’s defense, and crucial plays like Devin Sanchez’s field goal block, tilted the game in their favor.
The Mustangs sealed the win with Bailey’s stellar performance, amassing two passing touchdowns, two rushing touchdowns, and a field goal from Jonathan Soto in the final minutes, securing the 31-21 victory.
