Lake Highlands Runs Away From Pearce in 49-13 Rout
RICHARDSON – It didn’t take long for Lake Highlands to make a statement on Thursday night. The Wildcats jumped all over Pearce and never looked back, cruising to a 49-13 district victory on the road.
Lake Highlands (3-1) flexed its offensive firepower early, putting the game out of reach before halftime. The Wildcats spread the ball around, mixing big-play strikes with steady ground production, while the defense clamped down to keep Pearce from mounting any kind of comeback.
For the Mustangs (1-3), it was another tough outing in district play. Pearce couldn’t slow the Wildcats’ tempo and found themselves chasing the game from the opening kick.
What’s Next
Lake Highlands will try to keep the momentum rolling when they return home next Friday to square off with Irving MacArthur (2-2). The Cardinals enter fresh off a 58-13 blowout of Nimitz and should bring plenty of confidence into the matchup.
Pearce, meanwhile, will hit the road again to face Dallas Jesuit (1-3). The Rangers are coming off a 52-13 thrashing of Irving and will be eager to build on that success.
