Stephenville’s dominance train kept rolling Friday night as the Yellow Jackets crushed Lampasas 49–7, stretching their perfect run to 8-0. For a team that’s made blowouts a habit seven of their wins have come by 20-plus points this one was business as usual.
The Jackets’ defense came ready to feast. Lampasas quarterbacks had no room to breathe, and Stephenville’s secondary turned the night into a takeaway showcase. Cooper Fergason, Cash Kribbs, and Cooper Rudd each snagged an interception, shutting down any hope of a Badger comeback.
Lampasas, now 7-2, hit a wall offensively in what became their lowest-scoring outing of the season. Still, Jaden McElwain provided a lone bright spot, putting up 132 receiving yards and a touchdown including a dazzling 62-yard catch-and-run that reminded everyone of his big-play potential.
Next up, Stephenville steps into one of the area’s classic rivalries, taking on Brownwood under the lights Friday at 7:30 p.m. a matchup that could shake up the district standings. Meanwhile, Lampasas will look to rebound when they host Marble Falls at the same time, hoping to get their offense firing again after a rare off night.
