Steele wasted no time reminding everyone why it entered the postseason as one of the region’s most feared teams. Under the lights Friday night, the Knights overwhelmed Laredo LBJ from start to finish, rolling to a dominant 69 to 14 victory and punching their ticket to the next round.
Green Lights Up the Airwaves
Quarterback DJ Green turned the playoff stage into his personal showcase. With sharp reads and effortless touch, Green threw for 263 yards and four touchdowns on just 18 attempts. It continued his recent surge through the air, giving him three straight outings with at least three scoring passes.
While Green was dealing, receiver Jamin Harvell proved nearly impossible to contain. He hauled in 188 yards worth of catches and scored twice, stretching the field and breaking the game open before LBJ had time to adjust.
Knights in Complete Control
Steele attacked from all angles, stacking points early and often while its defense kept LBJ scrambling for answers. The Wolves, who entered the matchup facing a sizable gap in the state rankings, fought to stay afloat but could not match the Knights’ speed or firepower.
LBJ’s defeat sends them to 7 and 4 on the season, ending a strong run that saw the Wolves exceed expectations and push into postseason play.
Ten Straight at Home
With the win, Steele improved to 10 and 1 and extended its home winning streak to ten games dating back to last year. The Knights remain one of the hottest teams in Texas, fully locked in as the bracket tightens and the competition stiffens.
Steele moves forward carrying momentum, confidence, and a quarterback-receiver duo that looks ready to challenge anyone standing in the way.
