Houston Commit Keisean Henderson Puts on a Show as Spring Legacy Dominates Richland
RICHARDSON — The hype around Keisean Henderson is real, and Friday night proved why the five-star quarterback sits atop nearly every national ranking. The Houston commit powered Spring Legacy School of Sport Sciences to a 56-22 statement victory over Prosper Richland, dazzling in every phase of the game.
From the opening snap, Henderson looked every bit the part of the nation’s top 2026 quarterback prospect. On the Titans’ second play of the night, he launched a 49-yard touchdown strike to Mike Brown, setting the tone for what became a long evening for the Raiders. Moments later, the same duo connected again — this time from 52 yards out — to build a commanding 14-0 advantage midway through the first quarter.
The Titans’ defense decided it wanted in on the action too. Sophomore lineman Treynell Rivers stepped in front of a hurried throw and rumbled 33 yards to the end zone for a pick-six that extended the lead to 20-0. By the time the opening quarter ended, Spring Legacy was in complete control.
Henderson continued to carve up the Raiders in the second quarter, adding a 4-yard rushing touchdown and a two-point pass to Brayden McNeal that made it 28-0. Richland finally answered when sophomore quarterback Brighton Jones broke free for a 13-yard score before finding Donovan Ross for a conversion. A forced fumble moments later gave the Raiders new life, and Ross delivered again with a highlight-reel one-handed catch to trim the deficit to 28-15 heading into halftime.
The Raiders showed fight early in the second half, piecing together an 82-yard drive capped by a short touchdown pass to Nicoy Stewart, cutting the Titans’ lead to six. But Henderson wasn’t done yet. The junior phenom responded with precision, leading another quick march downfield and hitting McNeal on a 4-yard scoring pass to stretch the margin back to 14.
From there, the floodgates opened. Henderson bulldozed into the end zone from 13 yards out early in the fourth quarter, then set up Julian Shepherd for another short touchdown run as the Titans put the game away. A late toss to Damaris Richardson Jr. capped the night, sealing Spring Legacy’s seventh win of the season.
Henderson closed with a monster stat line: 23-of-29 passing for 309 yards and four touchdowns, along with 53 rushing yards and two more scores. Brown was his favorite target, hauling in a pair of long touchdowns, while McNeal added a score and two conversion catches.
Richland, which entered riding a three-game winning streak, dropped to 3-6 after the loss. Jones threw for two touchdowns and rushed for another, while Ross led the receiving corps with several big plays in defeat.
The Titans (now 7-2) will look to carry their offensive fireworks into the postseason, while Richland wraps up its season showing signs of growth behind its young quarterback duo.
