Gunter Roars Into the Next Round, Cruises Past Leonard in 45 to 14 Rout
When the postseason lights flipped on, Gunter looked exactly like the powerhouse it had been all fall. The Tigers dominated Thursday’s playoff matchup from wire to wire, rolling past Leonard 45 to 14 and extending their win streak to eleven games. Blowout victories have become routine for this group, and this latest showing fit the pattern perfectly.
Gage Perfect Through the Air
Quarterback Knox Gage delivered a spotless performance, completing all eight of his passes for 119 yards and three touchdowns. Every strike felt effortless, and every scoring throw seemed to hit Alex Fenner in stride. Fenner turned in a highlight reel of his own, finishing with 92 yards and all three of Gage’s touchdown tosses.
Ground Game Powers Along
While the passing game shined, the Tigers’ run game was every bit as sharp. Jay Campiti needed only eight carries to rack up 89 yards and a touchdown, slicing through the defense with ease and helping Gunter control the tempo from start to finish.
Leonard’s Lone Bright Spot
Even in a one sided contest, Leonard found production from star back Jacoby Lacook. He fought for everything he gained, rushing for 138 yards and a touchdown while also throwing for another score. His effort kept Leonard afloat early, but the Tigers’ depth and pace eventually widened the gap.
Tigers Keep Rolling
With the win, Gunter improves to 13 and 1 on the season, riding a dominant stretch in which they have allowed just over eleven points per game. Leonard drops to 9 and 5, ending a three game surge as their season comes to a close.
Gunter marches onward, looking every bit like a contender built for a long postseason run.
