Melissa Rolls Past Lovejoy in Dominant District Victory
MELISSA, TX The Melissa Cardinals left little doubt Friday night, putting together a commanding performance to cruise past the Lovejoy Leopards 49-14 in district play.
The Cardinals seized control early and never looked back, overwhelming Lovejoy on both sides of the ball to move to 4-1 on the season. Every possession seemed to turn into points as Melissa’s offense clicked with precision while the defense stifled the Leopards’ rhythm.
By halftime, the game’s tone was set Melissa’s speed, execution, and physicality proved too much for Lovejoy to match. The Cardinals have now won four of their last five and look like a team rounding into peak form as the district slate heats up.
Lovejoy, meanwhile, slipped to 2-3 with the loss and will try to regroup in front of its home crowd next week.
