Melissa wasted no time making a statement in the postseason. The Cardinals stormed past Anna on Friday night, rolling to a dominant 49 to 7 victory and continuing their long stretch of success against the Coyotes. The matchup marked Melissa’s seventh straight win in the series and one of their most convincing.
The Cardinals controlled every phase from the opening kick and pushed their record to 10 and 2. Anna, fresh off a three game home winning streak, never found its footing and slipped to 10 and 3.
Anna’s lone bright moment came through the air as Ziondre Williams connected for 114 passing yards, including a touchdown strike to Ace Traylor, who led the Coyotes with forty six receiving yards. Outside of that brief spark, Melissa’s defense kept a tight grip on the game and allowed very little breathing room.
The Cardinals’ postseason momentum continues to build as they have now stacked four straight wins. Their next challenge arrives Friday at 7:00 p.m. when Argyle comes to town, a team that has been lighting up scoreboards with thirty one or more points in six consecutive outings.
