Hopping, Lake Travis Steamroll Midland Legacy
Lake Travis made sure Friday night was never in doubt. The Cavaliers dominated Midland Legacy from start to finish, cruising to a 59-13 victory and keeping their unbeaten run alive at 3-0.
The star of the show? Running back Vann Hopping, who turned every touch into fireworks. On just 13 carries, Hopping racked up 171 yards and four touchdowns, slicing through the Rebels’ defense with ease. His highlight moment came on a blistering 58-yard dash, the kind of play that showcased both his speed and vision.
For Midland Legacy, the scoreboard wasn’t kind, but a few bright spots still shined through. Hayes Hamm churned out 132 total yards and found the end zone, while Ja’Braylen Anders hauled in a touchdown grab among his 36 receiving yards.
Still, the Rebels continue to search for answers, now staring down an 0-3 start and a four-game skid stretching back to last year. Lake Travis, on the other hand, looks every bit the powerhouse, piling up points and momentum with each passing week.
Next on the docket: the Cavaliers test themselves against San Marcos at 7:30 p.m. Friday, while the Rebels try to regroup against Abilene in a 7:00 p.m. kickoff.
