South Oak Cliff stepped into the postseason looking like a team built for December, and Thursday night did nothing to change that belief. The Bears overwhelmed Mt. Pleasant from start to finish, rolling to a 46 to 7 victory that extended their winning streak to ten games and kept their playoff push humming.
Morton, Trotter Power a Relentless Ground Attack
The Bears controlled the line of scrimmage from the opening series, and their backfield took full advantage.
Levon Morton sliced through the Tigers for 117 yards and a touchdown on just 11 carries, ripping off chunk runs all night.
Mikail Trotter provided a strong complement, hammering out 103 yards and adding a score of his own as South Oak Cliff piled up rushing yardage in waves.
Secondary Shuts the Door
While the offense stacked points, the Bears’ defense smothered Mt. Pleasant’s passing attack. The Tigers completed only a third of their attempts, continuing a recent trend in which no opponent has cracked a fifty-seven percent completion rate against this defense for five straight games.
Minter, Stewart Lead a Fierce Pass Rush
Pressure came early and often. South Oak Cliff produced five sacks on the night, and Tramell Minter spearheaded the charge with two of them. He also continued his streak of high-volume tackling, reaching five or more stops for the fourth straight week.
Jamari Stewart added his own spark, collecting a sack and finishing with nine total tackles, including two behind the line.
Streak Stays Alive
With the win, South Oak Cliff climbs to 11 and 1 and looks every bit like a contender ready for a deep run. Mt. Pleasant, meanwhile, saw its four-game surge end and finishes the year at 5 and 7.
The Bears are heating up at the perfect time, and their latest performance showed why nobody wants to see them on the bracket.
