Smithson Valley just keeps on rolling. The Rangers stretched their hot streak to six straight wins Friday night, overpowering rival New Braunfels 27–14 to improve to 7–1 on the season. The victory not only keeps their momentum alive but also gives them back-to-back wins over the Unicorns in their recent meetings.
New Braunfels, meanwhile, saw its road magic run out. The Unicorns came in riding a three-game win streak away from home, but the Smithson Valley defense slammed the door shut, holding them to their lowest point total of the year.
Even so, wideout Cayden Mills gave Unicorns fans something to cheer about, hauling in 96 yards through the air and finding the end zone once.
Next up, Smithson Valley will look to keep the fireworks going as they travel to face MacArthur on Thursday at 7 p.m. The Brahmas’ defense has been leaky all season—surrendering more than 30 points a game—setting the stage for another potential scoring showcase from the Rangers’ balanced attack.
As for New Braunfels, they’ll try to regroup at home on Friday night against Seguin. Expect a duel worth watching as Levi Golla and Corey Dailey two of the area’s most electrifying quarterbacks go head-to-head in what could turn into an offensive shootout under the lights.
