North Crowley extended their perfect season on Thursday night with a dominant 70-17 win over the Rockwall Yellowjackets, marking their most explosive offensive performance of the season. The victory at Wilkerson-Sanders Memorial Stadium pushed North Crowley to a 4-0 record, while also snapping Rockwall’s seven-game home winning streak and dropping them to 2-2.
Wide receiver Quentin Gibson had an electrifying performance, amassing 118 total yards and scoring four touchdowns on just five touches, further cementing his impressive start to the season. Quarterback Chris Jimerson Jr., was instrumental in North Crowley’s offensive explosion, throwing for 241 yards and five touchdowns.
Despite a rocky start, with North Crowley fumbling the opening kickoff and Rockwall capitalizing for the first touchdown, the Panthers quickly regrouped. Running backs Daniel Bray and Cornelius Warren III responded, capping a drive with a 1-yard touchdown to even the score. Jimerson then began his offensive onslaught, connecting with wide receiver Cam Hunter for an 18-yard score, followed by a 16-yard touchdown pass to Gibson.
With Rockwall’s offense struggling against North Crowley’s staunch defense, Jimerson and Gibson continued their dynamic connection, adding another 16-yard score. Following an interception by Draden Fullbright, Warren added his second touchdown, and Gibson further extended the Panthers’ lead with an impressive 32-yard rushing touchdown, breaking multiple tackles en route to the end zone. He later capped his night with a 38-yard touchdown on the first play of an offensive series, scoring in just seven seconds.
The second half saw additional touchdowns from Bray, wide receiver Kevin Moore, and running back Kiante Ingram, as North Crowley cruised to victory.
While they have clearly passed these tests with flying colors, they understand there is always room for growth. Although the Panthers will face slightly less challenging opposition in their next six games, it’s becoming evident that only state championship-caliber teams can truly push North Crowley to their limits.
