Prosper Powers Past Plano West in Dominant Finale
PROSPER — The Prosper Eagles closed their regular season with authority Thursday night, rolling past Plano West 51-10 in a lopsided 6A matchup. The win pushed Prosper to 8-2 on the year, sending them into the playoffs on a surge of confidence, while Plano West ended its season still searching for that elusive first victory.
Eagles Strike Early and Never Look Back
Prosper wasted little time setting the tone. The Eagles’ offense found the end zone on their opening drive to take a 7-0 lead, while their defense locked down the Wolves, allowing almost nothing in the first quarter. By halftime, Prosper had built a commanding 21-3 lead, fueled by a relentless ground attack and precision passing that kept Plano West guessing.
Second-Half Surge Seals It
Whatever hope the Wolves had evaporated in the third quarter. Prosper’s defense took full control, keeping Plano West from crossing midfield for most of the half. The Eagles capitalized on turnovers and short fields, exploding for 23 unanswered points in the third to stretch the margin to 44-3.
Plano West managed a late touchdown in the fourth, but it was far too late to change the outcome. The Eagles coasted to the finish line, sealing their 51-10 victory in convincing fashion.
Eyes on the Playoffs
Prosper’s dominant performance was a statement to the rest of the district. The Eagles have been efficient, balanced, and opportunistic, a formula that could carry them deep into the postseason.
Next up is a major test against Coppell, one of the top teams in the area. To advance, Prosper will need another complete effort against a Cowboys squad known for physical play and defensive toughness.
If Thursday night was any indication, the Eagles are peaking at exactly the right time — and ready for whatever challenges lie ahead.
