The Columbus Cardinals continued their dominant run on Friday, crushing the Needville Bluejays 60-21 to maintain their perfect season. Playing at home, Columbus quickly took control, leading 47-7 by halftime, and never looked back. This victory marks the Cardinals’ seventh straight home win, pushing their record to 3-0. Each of their victories this season has been by more than 20 points, showcasing their overwhelming strength on both sides of the ball.
Despite the lopsided score, Needville had some standout performances. Kobie Campbell led the Bluejays with 98 rushing yards and a touchdown, while Jamarkus Jack added 68 rushing yards. The Bluejays finished with 201 total rushing yards, a continuation of their ground-game success, as they’ve consistently rushed for over 160 yards in seven straight games dating back to last season.
Needville, who entered the game riding high after a 42-8 win over Livingston the previous week, suffered their first loss of the season, dropping to 2-1. The Bluejays will need to regroup after a tough outing against a formidable Columbus team that remains undefeated.
