College Park Stays Perfect, Runs Past Willis in Statement Win
WILLIS, TX The College Park Cavaliers continued their unbeaten roll Friday night, storming past the Willis Wildkats 55-37 in a high-powered District 13-6A showdown. The win not only pushed College Park to 6-0 on the season but also served up a little payback after last year’s loss to the same opponent.
For the seventh straight time on the road, the Cavaliers walked off victorious and this one came with authority.
Hughes Orchestrates Offensive Explosion
Quarterback Camden Hughes delivered another signature performance, carving up the Willis defense with 273 passing yards and three touchdowns, while adding 40 yards and a rushing score of his own. Hughes’ accuracy (74% completion rate) kept the Cavaliers moving at will, as his receivers found space all night.
Running back Brian Snodgrass punched in two touchdowns, part of a 294-yard ground assault, the team’s most dominant rushing effort of the year. The offensive balance kept Willis guessing from start to finish.
Defense Brings the Heat
The Cavaliers’ defensive front was relentless, racking up six sacks and creating havoc in the backfield. Brandon Claybaugh led the charge with two sacks, pushing his season averages even higher. Linebacker Marco Beltran filled the stat sheet nine tackles, a forced fumble, four pass breakups, and a key interception that swung momentum late in the game.
Willis quarterback Lincoln Frazier fought to keep the Wildcats alive, throwing for 284 yards and three scores, while wideout Jaivion Martin hauled in 113 yards and a touchdown. But every time Willis threatened, the Cavaliers answered with another blow.
