Wimberley’s quarterback, Cody Stoever, showcased an outstanding performance, passing for 217 yards and reaching the 1,000-yard mark in just five games. Stoever completed 21 of 28 passes, with four resulting in touchdowns. Additionally, he led the team in rushing, amassing 168 yards and scoring two touchdowns on 13 carries.
Despite a shaky start with a fumble in the opening series, the Texans rebounded, aided by their code red defense. Although Lampasas capitalized on an interception to score, Stoever’s resilient attitude and his team’s support fueled their comeback.
In the second half, Wimberley’s offense thrived, securing four touchdowns while their defense held Lampasas to two scores and a missed PAT. Stoever’s agile play, including a 27-yard rushing touchdown, and the impressive performance of receivers like Noah Birdsong and Ty Thames contributed to the Texans’ commanding lead.
Head coach Doug Warren praised the team’s resilience and upward trajectory, focusing on continual improvement in the following weeks. With a bye week approaching, the Texans prepare for upcoming district games against Jarrell, Manor New Tech, and Navarro, aiming to build on their momentum and secure further victories.
