The game started with a bang as quarterback Kaleb Bailey connected with Christopher Barnes for a 58-yard touchdown pass, setting the tone for North Shore’s commanding lead. Bailey’s versatile play saw him score on a 31-yard run, while D’Andre Hardeman contributed with an 11-yard run to extend their advantage.
While C.E. King struggled offensively and managed only two field goals in the first half, North Shore’s defense remained solid. Devin Sanchez and Paul Porter’s interceptions fortified the Mustangs’ lead, entering halftime with a comfortable 28-6 advantage.
Bailey continued to shine, adding a 17-yard touchdown pass to Cameron Smith in the third quarter, further expanding their lead to 42-6 with a 26-yard touchdown run from Chris Thomas.
Despite their dominant performance, North Shore faced a setback with an injury to starting tight end Kaleb Thomas, who was taken off the field on a stretcher.
This victory signifies North Shore’s strong position in their quest for a sixth consecutive district championship. On the other hand, C.E. King, although facing their first loss this season, remains a competitive team vying for their sixth straight playoff appearance.
Key players like Bailey, Barnes, and Hardeman showcased their skills in this game, contributing significantly to North Shore’s victory. C.E. King displayed notable performances from senior receivers Rae’G Dailey and Kason Dobbins.
North Shore will confront Summer Creek in their next game, looking to extend their dominance over them since 2016. Meanwhile, C.E. King aims to bounce back against Kingwood, seeking redemption after last year’s loss in the series.
