Dragons Dominate Again, Roll Past Guyer to Keep Perfect Season Alive
When the postseason spotlight hit on Saturday, Southlake Carroll looked as comfortable as ever. The Dragons punched their ticket to the next round with a commanding 51 to 19 win over Denton Guyer, another lopsided result in a season full of them.
Carroll has made blowouts routine, and this one fit neatly into the pattern.
Penn Pounds, Renda Slices, Biggers Finishes
From the opening whistle, the Dragons’ offense looked like a machine with every gear turning in sync.
Davis Penn set the tone on the ground, ripping through Guyer’s defense for 161 yards and a touchdown while averaging nearly nine yards a touch. His burst helped soften the edges, and quarterback Angelo Renda went to work from there.
Renda was efficient and sharp, firing for 235 yards and two scores on just sixteen attempts. When Carroll neared the end zone, Brooks Biggers provided the finishing touches, adding two short touchdowns that kept momentum squarely in Carroll’s corner.
A Ground Game with No Brakes
If Guyer hoped to slow the Dragons by winning at the line of scrimmage, they never got close. Carroll bulldozed its way to 276 rushing yards, the third straight game topping the 240 mark. The Wildcats had no answers for the pace, the physicality, or the precision that Southlake Carroll used to control the clock and the scoreboard.
Perfect Season Marches On
The Dragons move to 14 and 0, another double-digit win tacked onto a season filled with them. Guyer, who entered riding a ten-game streak of its own, falls to 11 and 3 and sees its postseason run come to an end.
Southlake Carroll continues forward looking every bit like a title favorite — explosive on offense, disciplined up front, and unshakably dominant when the lights get brightest.
