North Shore Flexes Playoff Muscle, Hands Dickinson First Loss in 46–29 Shootout
The postseason can be unforgiving, and Dickinson learned that lesson the hard way Friday night. The Gators rolled into their meeting with North Shore carrying an unbeaten record, but the Mustangs once again proved to be their stumbling block, pulling away for a 46 to 29 victory and extending their dominance in the rivalry.
Gators Battle but Can’t Break Through
Dickinson’s offense came prepared to trade punches. Quarterback Isaac Ramirez delivered one of his sharpest outings of the season, tossing for two hundred eighty five yards and three touchdowns while adding a rushing score. His connection with Jamarion Payne kept the Gators afloat, as Payne hauled in eighty yards and two touchdowns to highlight a busy night through the air.
Even with the impressive numbers, Dickinson found itself playing from behind for most of the game and struggled to slow down North Shore’s high-octane attack.
Maryland Takes Over Once Again
For the Mustangs, the spotlight belonged to their dual threat star. Kaleb Maryland engineered drive after drive, firing three touchdown passes on just sixteen attempts and running for two more scores. He finished with two hundred forty four passing yards and another fifty two on the ground, putting Dickinson’s defense on its heels every time he touched the ball.
His go-to target, Jaylen Bocard, was unstoppable in space. Bocard torched the secondary for one hundred fifty two receiving yards and a touchdown, stretching the field and setting the tone for North Shore’s big play barrage.
A Familiar Script, A New Chapter
The loss drops Dickinson to 13 and 1, marking their first blemish of the year and continuing a frustrating trend against North Shore, who has now claimed five straight wins in the series. The Mustangs, meanwhile, extend their winning streak to four and improve to 12 and 2 as they surge into the next round.
Next Stop: Lake Travis
North Shore moves on to a heavyweight showdown with Lake Travis next Friday at seven o’clock. With Maryland in rhythm and the offense firing at full speed, the Mustangs head into the regional final looking every bit like a championship contender once again.
