In a stunning showcase of dominance, Carthage claimed its ninth state championship in 16 seasons with an emphatic victory marked by a stellar performance from Noah Paddie and quarterback Conner Cuff on Friday morning.
The game’s momentum swung early in Carthage’s favor as Paddie swiftly secured two touchdown passes within the opening eight minutes, setting the tone for what would become a resounding victory.
Quarterback Conner Cuff orchestrated the Bulldogs’ offense brilliantly, tossing an impressive four touchdown passes and amassing 299 yards on a 14-of-22 passing display. His contributions didn’t end there, as Cuff also added a 1-yard touchdown run to his stellar performance.
Paddie emerged as a standout player, finishing the game with an impressive stat line of eight receptions for 191 yards and two touchdowns, further solidifying Carthage’s dominance.
Carthage’s flawless 16-0 record was mirrored by their on-field performance, amassing a total of 444 yards and averaging an outstanding 8.5 yards per play. Their defense was equally formidable, limiting Wimberley to a mere 239 total yards throughout the game. This comprehensive display of offensive prowess combined with an unwavering defense underscored Carthage’s complete control and earned them a well-deserved state championship victory.
