In Texas, high school football isn’t just a game; it’s a way of life. Communities take great pride in their local teams, and many districts have invested millions to build state-of-the-art stadiums that reflect the sport’s importance. Here’s a look at the top five most expensive high school football stadiums in Texas:

  1. Cy-Fair FCU Stadium – $84 million
Located in the Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District near Houston, Cy-Fair FCU Stadium tops the list at $84 million. This massive stadium seats 11,000 fans and features modern amenities like luxury suites, a large press box, and an impressive video board. As one of the most advanced high school football venues in the nation, Cy-Fair FCU Stadium provides an experience on par with many college facilities.
  2. Legacy Stadium – $70 million
Katy ISD’s Legacy Stadium comes in at $70 million. This 12,000-seat stadium is part of the district’s ongoing commitment to supporting its dominant football programs, which have won multiple state championships. With a sleek design, top-notch locker rooms, and spacious concourses, Legacy Stadium is a fitting home for Katy’s football powerhouses.
  3. McKinney ISD Stadium – $70 million
Also costing $70 million, McKinney ISD Stadium in North Texas is a premier venue for high school football. With a capacity of 12,000, this stadium is equipped with a large video scoreboard, premium seating options, and expansive locker rooms. The stadium is a crown jewel for McKinney ISD and showcases the district’s investment in both athletics and community pride.
  4. Allen Eagle Stadium – $60 million
Perhaps the most well-known of all Texas high school football stadiums, Allen Eagle Stadium was built for $60 million in 2012. It seats 18,000 fans, making it one of the largest high school stadiums in the country. The stadium features a multi-level press box, a jumbotron, and cutting-edge locker room facilities. Despite a brief closure due to structural issues after its opening, it remains a symbol of Texas’s football obsession.
  5. La Porte Bulldog Stadium – $56 million
Rounding out the list is La Porte Bulldog Stadium, which cost $56 million. This facility serves La Porte ISD and boasts a seating capacity of over 10,000. Its modern design and amenities, including advanced lighting systems and a sizable video board, make it one of the most luxurious high school stadiums in Texas.

These stadiums are more than just venues for Friday night lights—they are monuments to the passion and community spirit that define Texas high school football. Each facility reflects the commitment of the local communities to their teams, offering state-of-the-art features that rival many college stadiums.
