Vandegrift Stuns Dripping Springs, Vipers Punch Ticket With Gritty 27–20 Win
Playoff football rarely follows the script, and Saturday proved it once again. Dripping Springs entered the regional matchup as the higher ranked favorite, but Vandegrift delivered the night’s biggest twist, grinding out a 27 to 20 victory and ending the Tigers’ postseason run.
Tigers Flash Firepower but Fall Short
Dripping Springs didn’t go quietly. Wideout Merrik Bloomgren turned the field into his personal stage, hauling in one hundred sixty one receiving yards and two touchdowns. Quarterback Chase Ames kept feeding the hot hand, throwing for three hundred fifty seven yards while battling to keep the Tigers within striking distance.
Even with those standout performances, Dripping Springs struggled to manufacture the late drive it needed, and the upset slipped into Vandegrift’s hands.
Vandegrift’s Seniors Lead the Charge
The Vipers leaned on veteran composure when the tension rose. Quarterback Miles Teodecki was nearly flawless, completing nearly every throw he attempted for one hundred eighty three yards and a touchdown. His trusted target, Brock Chilton, carved up the secondary for one hundred thirty two receiving yards and a score.
The Vipers balanced the air attack with Justin Moore’s steady ground game, as he powered his way to ninety rushing yards that helped Vandegrift control tempo when it mattered most.
Momentum Turns Red Hot for the Vipers
The win gives Vandegrift its ninth straight victory, lifting the Vipers to a 12 and 2 record. Dripping Springs, now 12 and 2 as well, sees its season end after a strong late surge that came up one step short of the next round.
