DeSoto Shuts Out Mansfield Summit 54-0
One team scored. The other did not. DeSoto steamrolled Mansfield Summit 54-0 Friday for its fifth win in a row.
SaRod Baker was electric, running for 167 yards and four touchdowns at 9.8 yards a carry. It was his third straight game with at least two rushing scores.
The defense was just as suffocating. DeSoto sacked the Jaguars’ quarterback eight times, with Khing Thibodeaux, Kylan Nobles and Terrance McKnight each getting one among the group effort. David Price and Dexter Mason also came up with interceptions. The Fighting Eagles have now allowed just 36 points over their last five games, compared with 88 in week zero.
This was not a one-off. DeSoto has won four games by more than 20 points this season and 15 of its last 17 dating back to last year, averaging 45.2 points over that stretch. The Fighting Eagles improve to 5-2.
Mansfield Summit slips to 3-4.
